Vicar

In The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod, a Vicar is one who is getting work experience in learning to be a Pastor. Vicar Alan Thoe is participating in the Specific Ministry Program, or simply called SMP. The program is designed to train future Pastors within a congregation. In September, 2010 Vicar Thoe began taking courses via the internet through Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, Indiana. SMP is a four year program. During his third year of training he will be ordained and continue his training here at Grace.
