We are collecting canned and dry good items for Nourish Food Bank. The children of our Sunday school are asked to bring an item on their birthday.
Because of the economic times there is an increased need. We are asking each person to bring an item to donate every time you come to worship. We would like to be able to donate at least 500 items each month.
NOURISH FOOD BANK On average we provide aid to over 540 families each month. In addition, we supply nearly 500 ATLAS backpack bags a month, which provides weekend food bags to homeless, disadvantaged school children in Rutherford County. During the holidays we provide our clients with Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas hams, plus all the sides to provide a robust diner and dessert. Holiday needs include: instant potatoes/potatoes au gratin, canned green beans/canned corn, cream of mushroom soup, gravy mix, canned yams/sweet potatoes, canned pineapple, baking items (flour, sugar, oil etc.) Jell-O, broth, French fried onions, cranberry sauce, canned meat (Spam, chicken, ham, tuna). Constant needs include canned meats, breakfast items (cereal, variety packs, oatmeal, breakfast bars), chili/Chef Boyardee/ravioli soups, broth, ramen, dried beans/rice, hygiene items, feminine products. They will also take the sample sized toiletries that you get when you stay at a hotel. Thank you for your help in aiding low-income children and families. You may bring items to the church and we will take them to Nourish for you. NOTE: Please DO NOT donate items that have been opened or have expired as we will not accept them.
