Information for Our Guests

Wearing masks while at Grace for worship, meetings or Bible study is left up to personal choice.

Parking and Entering the Building
You will enter the parking lot of Grace Lutheran Church from East Clark Boulevard. We have two parking lots. The front parking lot has several spaces designated for “visitors”. Please feel free to use them. In the back parking lot we have six spaces designated for handicap use. You may park in either lot.

There are two main entrances into our building. From the front parking lot you can come into the building via the wooden doors. There is a slight step up into the building here. Once inside, the sanctuary is to your left. You will find women’s and men’s bathrooms as well as a drinking fountain down the hallway on your right after you come in the wooden door.

If you park in the back lot, you will come into the church via the double glass doors. There are no steps to get into the building here. Immediately to your right is the church office. The sanctuary is on the south side of the narthex behind the wall of glass. The fellowship hall is across the narthex from the outside entry doors. In the fellowship hall area are women’s and men’s bathrooms and a drinking fountain.

Getting Around the Building
You will find a map of the building near the wooden front door of the church and another one in the narthex. We hope this will help you locate Sunday school classrooms for your children, the nursery, restrooms, etc.

Children of all ages are welcome in our worship services. You will find scratch paper and crayons at the usher’s station for “budding artists” to use. Please return the crayons to the usher’s station after worship so they may be used another Sunday. We have an “on call” volunteer nursery attendant during the 8 a.m. service and adult Bible study at 9:30 a.m.

You will find stands near both entrances with the worship bulletin.

The Worship Service
We have worship at 8:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday school and adult Bible study are at 9:30 a.m.

Our pastor will greet the congregation before the worship service starts. He also will give directions throughout the service about sitting, standing, page numbers etc.

In the pew rack you will find green prayer request cards. If you have a prayer request, please fill out this card and hand it to the usher when the offering plate is passed. The ushers will take it to our pastor and he will include it in the prayers of the church.

You will not be asked to stand and identify yourself as a guest. However we would like you to fill out one of the yellow fellowship cards in the pew rack in front of you. Please pass this card to the center aisle after the offering for the ushers to collect.

Regarding the offering, please do not feel obligated to give any money if you do not want to. Some church members give monthly rather than weekly, so no one will care whether you give or not. If you want to give something, just place it in the offering plate as it is passed.

A Word to Our Guests and Members about Holy Communion
When members of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod come to the Lord’s Supper, we affirm that Jesus is our Savior and Lord, that His body and blood are really present “in, with, and under” the bread and wine, that we receive Him as true disciples in the fellowship of the Church. You are invited to commune with us if you also believe this and can answer “yes” to all three statements below:

Lord’s Supper

X I repent of all my sins, seeking to turn away from sin and to the forgiveness of Jesus.
XI intend to grow, with the help of the Holy Spirit, in a more committed life with Jesus and His Church.
XI am a communicant member of this congregation or another congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
All who are visiting from other congregations or have no church at all are invited to come forward to the communion rail to receive a blessing. Please keep your hands folded so we may know how to serve you. God’s Word tells us that those who eat and drink our Lord’s body and blood in an unworthy manner do so to their great harm. If you are uncertain about whether or not you should partake of the Lord’s Supper today, please wait until you have spoken privately with the Pastor.

After the Worship Service is over
The Pastors will greet everyone as you leave the sanctuary. Please introduce yourself. If you have any other questions about Grace Lutheran or The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, please feel free to call the church at 893-0338 and speak to our Pastor.
